  2. Masks

How do I put on a mask and take it off correctly? What do I need to be aware of while wearing a mask?

Answer

First, read and follow the instructions that come with the mask.

Wash or disinfect your hands before putting on a mask, and after removing one. Place the mask carefully over your face, ensuring that it covers your nose and mouth, and pull it tight so that it fits snugly over your face. Try not to touch your face or the mask while wearing it. If you do happen to touch the mask, you must then wash your hands. Try not to adjust it. The effectiveness of the mask is reduced each time you touch it.

Remove the mask by taking hold of the ties behind your ears and removing the mask from your nose and mouth. Dispose of the mask immediately by placing it a waste bin, making sure that the used mask does not come into contact with anything else. Wash or disinfect your hands again afterwards.
