Your COVID certificate is not stored in any central system with the federal government. If providers have not stored your certificate in their primary medical documentation (e.g. in the practice, pharmacy or vaccination information system), your certificate is exclusively in your possession. Your certificate is only held by you. You should therefore also keep the paper COVID certificate safe so you can transfer it to a new mobile phone if necessary. If you lose it, you will need to request another one from the issuing body where you were vaccinated or tested. To find out how to get your COVID certificate as a PDF or on paper, see: "I only have my COVID certificate electronically in the COVID Certificate app. How can I get the certificate as a PDF or on paper?".
