What exactly is checked when my COVID certificate is verified?

The certificate is scanned to check the following three points:

• Does the certificate contain a valid electronic signature?
• Has the certificate definitely not been revoked?
• Does the certificate meet the applicable validity criteria of the relevant national checking app?

Only if all three points are assessed positively is the COVID certificate shown as valid.
