If you are pregnant, you should try to protect yourself from becoming infected with the coronavirus as best you can. An infection with coronavirus could result in a serious case of COVID-19. We therefore advise you to observe our basic principles in the Protect yourself and others section.
Under the Maternity Protection Ordinance, your employer is required to ensure that you, as a pregnant woman, are protected as best as possible against becoming infected with the coronavirus at the workplace. If this is not possible, your employer must offer you alternatives. Should it not be possible to continue working, your gynaecologist can provide you with a medical certificate. Further information, including as regards protection at the workplace, can be found on the website of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in German, French or Italian).
If you have symptoms, ring your gynaecologist immediately in order to discuss the necessary steps.
