Since 1 August 2022, Swissmedic has been responsible for licences in connection with the medical use of cannabis. For the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes, an establishment licence is required, together with an additional individual cultivation licence. Production requires an establishment licence for the handling of cannabis.
