Do I still need a licence to conduct medical research involving cannabis?

Medical research involving cannabis requires a licence from Swissmedic. This includes both preclinical research (e.g. drug discovery, animal tests, toxicology studies) and clinical research for the purpose of drug development. It does not include clinical studies on the health effects of non-medical cannabis use.
