If a medicine becomes unavailable in Switzerland, couldn’t replacement supplies be manufactured here?

This option is under consideration by the Swiss Confederation as part of the ongoing project for the development of implementation proposals for the improvement of the supply situation. Subproject 8 is working on actions to enable the Confederation to procure or produce its own supplies of the medicines concerned in the event of a severe shortage.
