What prescriptions have to be recorded in the reporting system?

Answer
  • All prescriptions of medicinal cannabis products with a THC content of at least 1% have to be reported. There is an exemption for the finished products containing THC which have been authorised by Swissmedic, provided that they are used in the authorised indication and dosage form. Here, the recording of prescriptions in the reporting system is optional.
  • No reports are required for medicinal products which contain other cannabinoids, in particular cannabidiol (CBD), and have a total THC content below 1%. These products do not fall under the Narcotics Act.
